BLDSC to Partner with SilverPlatter

The British Library Document Supply Centre (BLDSC) and SilverPlatter Information have announced a partnership to provide document delivery service to libraries in conjunction with SilverPlatter's bibliographic databases. Links to provide document delivery are a component of SilverLinker, SilverPlatter's new suite of linking technologies.

The British Library and its Document Supply Centre currently subscribe to almost 50,000 journals covering most countries, languages and subjects. Articles can be ordered via a direct link in SilverPlatter's bibliographic records. Researchers can order specific articles identified by searching SilverPlatter databases directly from BLDSC. Documents are sent via first-class mail within 48 hours after the centre receives the request. Documents can also be faxed.

The services are available only to institutions registered with the BLDSC.
