Renew Now for BCR Annual
CIS Universe Group Subscription

Renew your library's subscription(s) now to the Universe databases. BCR's group
subscription to CIS LEXIS- NEXIS databases runs from July 1 through June 30.
At this time, only the guaranteed ceiling prices for each database is available. Final
prices depend on the total number of libraries that subscribe to the databases by May 15.
The final prices for this year's subscription will be
listed on BCR's Web site (www.bcr.org/) as soon as they are available.
BCR also will distribute the prices by e-mail to each library
that has already completed a BCR Web renewal/order form.
Universe databases available with BCR's group subscription are:
- CIS/LEXIS-NEXIS Academic Universe
More than 5,200 unique titles. See the title list at cisweb.lexis-
nexis.com/marketsource/reports.htm.
- CIS Congressional Universe
Government information archive with full text of congressional reports, hearings and
bills; Congressional Record; Federal Register and Code of Federal Regulations;
biographical, financial and voting information on congressional members.
- CIS State Capital Universe
Information about all 50 states from a single, comprehensive Web source.
- CIS Statistical Universe (three options)
Statistical Universe is undergoing extensive redesign to allow users to search statistical
tables via new table-level indexing. In August, all subscribers will receive the new Basic Tables
Collection, providing access to up to 60,000 tables from federal, state and IGO
publications. Statistical Universe B, E and F are eliminated.
Statistical Universe (A): Federal Service Research Collection
includes the complete American Statistics Index Abstract and Index.
Statistical Universe (C): State and Private Service, includes
Statistical Reference Index Abstract (SRI) and Index data for state and private source
statistical publications since 1980. Nine optional full-text modules are available.
Statistical Universe (D): International Service, includes Index to
International Statistics Abstract (IIS) and Index Data for international and
intergovernmental statistical publications from 1983 to the present.
To subscribe or renew, go to BCR's Web site, click on Reference
Databases and then on CIS, LEXIS-NEXIS or Universe and complete the Web form.
The databases are available only to academic institutions, public libraries and state
