AccessScience@McGraw-Hill.com
  Available to BCR Member Libraries
 By James Speed Hensinger

BCR is participating in a national contract to provide AccessScience@McGraw-Hill.com
  to libraries.

This Web-based science and technology database contains the full text of the McGraw-
Hill Encyclopedia of Science & Technology, eighth edition, and its corresponding annual
yearbooks. The Dictionary of Scientific & Technical Terms, more than 2,100 science
biographies, news stories from Science News, McGraw-Hill science editors' selected
Web sites and recent research developments also are included for further research
  capabilities.

AccessScience is updated daily and has a powerful search engine that provides patrons
with quick results. Links are provided to background information and to biographies.
For instance, lists of Nobel Prize winners are linked to relevant articles and to topical
home pages in current biographies of scientists, as well as to other pages in the
  Encyclopedia of Science & Technology.

BCR's price will depend on the national total aggregated enrollment. The existing
volume-pricing curve range is from $0.47 to $0.215 per full time equivalent (FTE)
student or patron. The final FTE price will be announced after orders are aggregated in
late June. Adjustments to FTE counts are defined for community colleges, schools and
  public libraries.

There is no Web order form for this service. Please send an e-mail identifying your
institution with your actual and (if applicable) your adjusted FTE count, to Jim Hensinger
  (jhensing@bcr.org).
