BCR Staff Looking Forward
to Fall Library Conferences

BCR staff members are looking forward to talking with librarians at library conferences scheduled in the BCR region this fall. The Wyoming Library Association meets September 26-29; Idaho Library Association, October 3-6; Nevada Library Association, October 4-7; Iowa Library Association, October 10-12; and Colorado Library Association, October 26-29.

Wyoming
The WLA Annual Conference is scheduled in Cody. BCR Executive Director Dave Brunell will attend the conference.

In keeping with the WLA theme, It's time to tell our story Brunell will present "BCR's Story: A Network Update," at 1:45 on Friday, September 28. He will provide a humorous look at the history of "the West's premier library service network, along with some serious lessons about resource sharing and managing library technology."

Idaho
ILA will convene its annual meeting in Pocatello with BCR Executive Director Dave Brunell and Linda Gonzalez, BCR member services librarian, in attendance. Gonzalez will present "MARC for Beginners I" from 2-5 p.m. on Friday, October 5. Register for the session via the ILA conference registration form. The hands-on session provides a basic introduction to the MARC format for bibliographic records and points out Web sites where full MARC records can be acquired at little to no cost.

Nevada
NLA librarians will meet in Las Vegas for this year's annual conference. Rosario Garza, manager of BCR's Bibliographic Systems & Services, will attend. See her participating in the panel discussion "Building Agenda for Statewide Library Cooperation" Thursday, October 6, from 2-4 p.m. and again at the "BCR Network Update" on Saturday, October 6, from 10-11 a.m.

Iowa
Iowa librarians will gather in Davenport. Representing BCR will be Jim Hensinger, manager of BCR's Internet & Database Services, and Mike Wright, BCR member services librarian, who maintains BCR's Iowa office. The two will present the "BCR Network Update" at noon on Friday, October 12.

Colorado
The CLA Annual Conference is scheduled in Colorado Springs. Rosario Garza, manager of BCR's Bibliographic Systems & Services, and Sharon Hoffhines, BCR communications coordinator, will attend. Garza will present the "BCR Network Update" on Sunday, October 28, from 3:45-5 p.m.

Exhibit Booth
BCR also will have a booth set up in the exhibit area at each of the library conferences. Please stop by to ask questions, learn about the many services BCR has available to assist libraries or just to chat and get better acquainted. We hope to see you.
