Free Trial Now Available to New Oxford
  Reference Online: The Core Collection
  By James Speed Hensinger

BCR member libraries may now sign up for a three-and-a-half month free trial to
Oxford University Press' newest online product, Oxford Reference Online: The Core
Collection. The free trial is available March 15 through June 30.

Oxford Reference Online (ORO) brings together the full text of 100 of the well-known
Oxford Dictionaries and Oxford Companion titles into a single, cross-searchable Web
database. ORO offers integrated, consistent coverage of a broad range of subjects,
spanning everything from general reference, languages and quotations, science,
medicine, food, humanities, social sciences, business and much more.

A wide choice of search options are offered from a simple, quick search to sophisticated
advanced searches. New works will be added annually and new editions of works already
  included will also be added.

List pricing ranges from $375 for a single user to $2,995 for unlimited users in a very
large institution. BCR is still negotiating the BCR price to libraries, but we expect at
least a 15 percentage discount from the list price.
