MEDLINE Records Linked to OCLC ECO

MEDLINE records in the OCLC FirstSearch service have been linked to corresponding full-text articles in FirstSearch Electronic Collections Online. This enables FirstSearch web users with a subscription to any of approximately 200 linked ECO journals to download articles directly from MEDLINE citations and bibliographic records.

World Book Available on FirstSearch

The World Book Encyclopedia database, from World Book Inc., may now be accessed on the OCLC FirstSearch service, but via the web interface only. The online version is the 1998 World Book Encyclopedia, International Edition -- more than 17,500 full-text articles and more than 1,000 tables in 21 volumes. Images are included in some full-text articles by clicking the "Image" hot link.

ATLA Rebate Given for SilverPlatter Subscription

ATLA has agreed to provide prorated rebates to its current, direct customers who wish to switch to the SilverPlatter version of ATLA Religion Database. To arrange for the rebate, contact the ATLA sales manager directly: Sangui Wimbiscus, Sales Manager, (800) 665-ATLA or swimbiscus@atla.com.

SilverPlatter Clarifies Cancellation Policy

As of April 13, SilverPlatter customers can receive a 100 percent refund when they cancel a subscription and return it to SilverPlatter within 30 days of the subscription renewal date. For example, a customer with a subscription for the period May 1, 1998 - May 1, 1999 has until June 1, 1998, to cancel and receive a full refund.

Wilson OmniFile Full Text to Expand

H.W. Wilson Company is expanding the Wilson OmniFile: Full Text Select database by 40 percent to approximately 800 journal titles. The database is derived from five Wilson databases -- Readers' Guide Abstracts Full Text, Wilson Business Abstracts Full Text, General Science Abstracts Full Text, Humanities Abstracts Full Text and Social Sciences Abstracts Full Text.
