Libraries Save with BCR
Libraries are seeing significant savings by purchasing their Britannica Online annual
subscriptions through BCR. Currently, 184 libraries have subscribed through BCR's
Britannica Online Group Subscription. If these libraries had purchased Britannica
Online through individual subscriptions, they would have paid more than an additional
$120,000. The BCR group subscription provides Britannica Online to a total of
607,476 users.
Britannica Online provides thousands of hypertext links, hundreds of articles not
included in the print version, the Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary, Nations of
the World and Britannica Classics. These are all available at a cost of 49-cents per
FTE based on the following formulas according to library type:
Academic | 100 percent of fall enrollment FTEs |
Community College | 75 percent of fall enrollment FTEs |
Secondary School | 100 percent of fall enrollment FTEs |
Elementary School | 50 percent of fall enrollment FTEs |
Public | 5 percent of the population served |
Business/Government | 100 percent of employees with web access |
